Amy's new life at the FCP takes some getting used to as she struggles to adjust to her life as a prisoner, though the presence of friends both old and new helps keep her out of trouble. But trouble seems to follow her, and soon Amy becomes drawn into a conspiracy that could lead all the way to the top of the FCP. Back in Kokomo, Cassie, Zeph, Schaefer, and the rest of Amy's classmates struggle to make sense of the tragedy that seems to have consumed their lives. And deep in space, Oliver's ship races toward the mysterious Artifact--and his final fate.
